Adoption / Foster - Application Form

Please enter correctly as this is the main way we will contact you
If you are not applying for a particular animal, or are open to alternatives, please confirm your preferences so that you can be offered the most suitable animal
Please be honest - it's how we get a better match. There is no right or wrong answer - we take a tailored view to each animal and do not want to place, for example, a male who we recommend not to be castrated for anxiety issues in a home that could not cope with "boy behaviours"
Please note - we do not recommend neutering in all circumstances, particularly in males where behaviours can be negatively and permanently impacted by castration, but decisions will be made by the rescue, our vet, your vet and your own experience.
Please be as descriptive as possible so we can make the right match for animal and children
If this applies to the dog you are applying for this will be communicated prior to meeting
In the event of a serious risk to harm for you or the dog, the rescue will remove the dog as soon as reasonably practicable. Where no serious risk is posed, the rehoming process can take several months.
Many rescue dogs are returned within the first year because the adopters change their minds, want to get a puppy instead, want a holiday, or embellished their experience when they applied and now find it all too much. Rescue backup is often seen as a way to return the dog when people decide they don't want it any more. Often the dog returns needing vaccinations, neutering, kennelling and transport - and these costs are sending rescues into financial distress. As a rescue we will always stand behind our dogs. However we need to ensure that we can continue to operate sustainably. Covering the costs of reckless returns allows us to keep our adoption fees for committed adoptions affordable. Each situation will be dealt with individually, and the Rescue may choose not to ask you to cover these costs.
Costs can include but are not limited to: - Cost of kennelling where the issue is not a risk of harm but is for owner convenience / request Cost of kennelling where a risk of harm resulted from owner negligence/ actions / failure to act - Cost of re-vaccinating the animal if the vaccinations have expired - Cost of neutering if required - Costs of transport - Costs of required medical treatment that the owner was aware of but had neglected to arrange
The adoption donations vary with the age of the animal. Dogs Under 6 months - £500 6 - 12 months - £450 12month to 2 years - £400 2 - 6 years - £350 6 - 9 years - £200 9+ years - at the adopter's discretion and appreciated but not mandatory
